Dell M11x Review

The Dell M11x is the latest gaming notebook from Dell's Alienware team and might be the best thing to happen to PC gaming this year. The Dell M11x laptop isn't as small as a standard netbook, or as mighty in size as a laptop, it's somewhere in-between the two. It generally doesn't cost as much as those larger alternatives, either.

Dell M11x Specs:

Genuine Windows® 7 Ultimate (64-bit) Operating System

Up to Intel® Core™2 Duo SU7300 Processor

Up to 8GB DDR33 1066MHz Memory

Up to 500GB4 7200RPM Hard drive or 256GB Solid State Drive

11.6″ LCD Screen

4.5 Pounds Weight

The Dell M11x’s keyboard is smaller than a regular one, but the keys are rounded, travel a good distance and don't feel flimsy in the slightest.  The keys themselves have a slightly glossy coating, which didn’t cause our fingers to slip but picked up oils from our skin.

The screen is probably the worst part of the Alienware M11x, and it's only average.  The 11.6-inch 1366x768 screen is bright and crisp with colours and images, although limited in a few different ways. While its resolution of 1366 x 768 is standard, I enjoyed deep blacks and bright colors whether watching videos or playing games.

It's the perfect size pretty light(for a 8 cell) and extremely good battery life. The battery life is claimed at about 6.5 hours if you're just using it normally, and 2 hours of full-on gaming.

On the left side are an additional USB port, FireWire, HDMI, Ethernet, VGA, and DisplayPort.
The right side has two USB ports, two headphone jacks, and a microphone jack.

Dell M11X

Pros:

Ultraportable gaming Laptop

AlienFX LED lighting

Cons:

No matte screen option

Limited processor options
